Apologia Give Away!!!

Hey blogging friends! Thought you'd never hear from me again!? I can't wait to start blogging now that we are about to wrap up another year. I've got lots to say and catch up on! Also, there is this great elementary science curriculum from Apologia that I'm starting to use and the author, Jeannie Fulbright, is having a contest!

Apologia is now producing notebooking journals that accompany each of the elementary science books. Both Botany and Astronomy are now available. You can see samples on the Apologia website here:

Botony sample pages here
and
Astronomy sample pages here

These journals are beautiful spiral bound notebooks that will save you time and money. You won't have to print and keep up with your child's notebook pages, buy and maintain page protectors, or purchase and compile binders...everything that makes notebooking time-consuming and labor intensive for mom. Also, your child will adore having their own notebooking journal.

Each of the notebooking journals include:
  • A daily schedule for those who like to have a plan or would like their children to complete the book on their own
  • Templates for written narrations, the notebooking activities and experiments
  • Review Questions
  • Scripture Copywork, with both print and cursive practice
  • Reading lists and additional activities, projects, experiments for each lesson
  • An appendix with beautiful, full-color, lapbook-style Miniature Books
  • Field Trip Sheets to keep a record field trips
  • A Final Review with fifty questions the students can answer either orally or in writing to show off all they remember and know at the end of the course.
Jeannie is giving away 4 Astronomy Notebooking Journals and 4 Botany Notebooking Journals to bloggers who post about this on her site. Visit her blog to learn more about this contest: www.jeanniesjournal.com

Hello WWW

Hello blogger friends and readers! I was going to switch things around and move this blog to our own server and domain address... but time has escaped me and it's going to take a lot longer than I thought. If you saw the message "invite only" - or something like that - that is the reason why. For now, I will leave this open and will direct the my new blog "home" once it's done. And who knows, maybe I'll start blogging here in the during time. I sure miss it...

Sunny Side

So much for my idea of this being a weekly thing! I'm even long past it being a monthly thing! But hopefully as life gets into a routine, I can carve time to write make it more frequent. Nonetheless, here it goes...

Loving Hans Zimmer's new soundtrack from The Dark Knight (which I have yet to see!)

Watching the Redskins win their first 3 playoff games.

Feeling bubbly at the World of Coca-Cola.

My parents incredible generosity.

My man who keeps me balanced, encourages me, and prays for me.

Starting school with my children.

Seeing my youngest take off on a new level with reading.

Opening the windows and enjoying the past few breezy days.

Running with a mom from Big B's football team and enjoying our talk.

Seeing God's majesty in nature.

Enjoying our time spent with family in Virginia.

The taste of homegrown tomatoes.

Finding great deals on cute clothes for my kids at a consignment sale.

Seeing "bambi" in our backyard!
Hearing my children practice their piano and guitar.

The taste of Edy's mint chocolate chip ice cream.

The thought of rain coming our way this week.

For His abundant grace and never failing love.

The count down begins...

This may not really be worth much to those who read this blog, but since I am passionate about the Redskins, and tend to write about them here, I feel it's blog worthy material! Last night, my man sent me this excellent article on Coach Zorn. The more I read about him, the more I am so impressed. My man put it best:
"It is definitely nice to have coaches and players on your favorite team who you can admire as people and for their character rather than just for their extraordinary abilities."
The Redskins and it's fans are so blessed to have him!

Another bonus... This morning, I received an email from the Washington Redskins Newsletter and found out I now have something else to consume my time - The Redskins Blog.

13 more days for Pre-Season games...
45 more days for the 2008 Season to start!
GO SKINS!!
